WORCESTER teenager Phoebe Brett helped England reach the semi-finals of the under-19 women’s T20 World Cup in Malaysia.

The 19-year-old spin bowler took England’s only wicket against defending champions India in the semi-final in Kuala Lumpur.

England suffered a nine-wicket defeat after ending their 20 overs on 113-8.

Brett took the wicket of India opener Gongadi Trisha in what would prove to be England’s only scalp of the innings.

She featured in four games throughout the tournament.

Brett played against Pakistan and USA in the group stages along with the Super Six encounter against New Zealand.

India beat South Africa by nine wickets in the final to retain their trophy.

Brett was voted Worcestershire’s young women’s player of the year in 2024 before transferring to the Bears Women academy.
