ETHAN Brookes scored a quickfire half-century to help Worcestershire Rapids to a six-wicket T20 Blast victory against Durham.
Brookes passed the 50-run mark in just 23 deliveries while debutant Isaac Mohammed also impressed with the bat at New Road.
The Rapids reached the required target of 156 with 17 balls to spare after restricting the visitors to 155-6 at the end of their 20 overs.
And the result means Worcestershire sit sixth in the T20 Blast North Group standings.
The Rapids won the toss and elected to field as Durham openers Graham Clark (19) and Alex Lees (28) put on 35 runs for the first wicket.
However, Jacob Duffy (1-32) bowled Clark to break up the partnership before Ben Dwarshuis (1-28) accounted for Ollie Robinson (1) in the next over.
And Brookes (1-32) then claimed the scalp of Clark to leave Durham on 58-3 at the end of the ninth over.
Will Rhodes (58 not out) found the boundary eight times in a 33-ball knock while Colin Ackermann (21) also added useful runs.
However, Tom Taylor (1-23) took the wicket of Ackermann while Matthew Waite (2-20) accounted for James Neesham (5) and Ben Raine (9) as Durham closed on 155-6.
Rapids debutant Mohammed (32) enjoyed a fruitful 15-ball innings as the 17-year-old showed his potential with some powerful hitting.
Steady knocks from Jake Libby (21) and Kashif Ali (25) kept the Rapids ticking along before Brookes (51) smashed the home side to victory with six wickets to spare.
Worcestershire are next in action against local rivals Birmingham Bears on Friday, June 20 with the game to start at 7pm at Edgbaston.
