BRETT D’Oliveira produced a stunning knock to inspire Worcestersire Rapids to a 60-run DLS win against Yorkshire Vikings.
D’Oliveira smashed 79 runs from 48 balls while Adam Hose chipped in with a half-century as the Rapids posted 201-5 at New Road.
And some economic bowling saw Worcestershire restrict Yorkshire to 135-8 in reply only for rain to curtail Yorkshire’s innings with four balls remaining.
That meant DLS came into effect with the Rapids claiming a 60-run victory to earn their first T20 Blast win of the season.
Rapids opener D’Oliveira punished the Yorkshire attack and reached his half-century in just 34 balls.
Despite losing Ed Pollock (12) and Kashif Ali (17), D’Oliveira and Hose (54) combined to put on 117 runs for Worcestershire’s third-wicket.
The pair fell in quick succession towards the end of the innings as Ben Dwarshuis (21 not out) helped the Rapids pass the 200-run mark.
And the Rapids made a fine start with the ball to restrict Yorkshire to 51-6 in the eighth over of their reply.
Only opener Adam Lyth (38) provided any resistance of Yoskhire’s top order while Matt Revis (31) and Dom Bess (41 not out) combined well later in the innings.
No other Yorkshire batters managed double figures as Adam Finch (2-19), Dwarshuis (2-22) and also Jacob Duffy (2-30) all took two wickets apiece.
The Rapids continue their T20 Blast campaign against Northampton Steelbacks on Friday, June 6 with the game to begin at 5.30pm at New Road.
