Creevy wants to stay at Sixways

INFLUENTIAL hooker Agustin Creevy has expressed his desire to extend his stay at Sixways as he continues to enjoy life as a Worcester Warriors player.

But the Argentina ace admitted relegation from the Aviva Premiership may force him to reconsider his options as he aims to keep himself on the national selectors’ radar.

The 28-year-old, who has one year left on his contract at the club, has become a key member of Dean Ryan’s side since his arrival in October.

And Creevy said he was keen to build a future in the city after making the move from Montpelier in France. But the front row refused to give a definitive answer on whether he would remain at Warriors if they find themselves in the RFU Championship next season.

“I love Worcester, the club and its supporters, who are really good to me,” he said. “The club is really professional as the buildings are really nice.

“I also love playing in the Premiership as the forwards play a really important part as they are heavily involved which is really good for me.

“I would like to stay, but I don’t know what will happen if we go down.

“I have one more year on my contract and my life is really happy here.

“Only for the Rugby Championship it is good (to be in the Premiership), but I don’t know yet. All of the time I think week by week and at the moment I want to stay.

“But to play in the Rugby Championship is really exciting for me and it is my dream to play in the World Cup. I played once in 2011, so I will do everything to play in it again.”

In the meantime, Creevy said he was desperate to help his side retain their status in the top flight for another season and he said he was “optimistic” that Warriors could avoid the drop.

“The club has changed a lot since I arrived,” he added. “I feel that the team is improving, but we can’t get the victory which has been frustrating for us.

“But if we just continue what we are doing it will come and hopefully it will come in our next match.”
