City set for Lowestoft test

Worcester Editorial 9th Sep, 2014 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

WORCESTER City will be looking to secure their second win of the season when they welcome newly-promoted Lowestoft Town to Aggborough tonight (Tuesday).

Carl Heeley’s men failed to follow up their impressive 2-1 victory over North Ferriby United on August 30 by going down 1-0 to current league leaders Barrow on Saturday (September 6).

But the Blue and Whites are unbeaten at home this season, with two draws and a win, and have tasted defeat at Aggborough only once this year – that to eventual league champions AFC Telford back in February.

Wayne Thomas and Tristan Dunkley both missed the reverse in Cumbria on Saturday through a head injury and illness respectively, and remain doubtful, but new signing Sean Geddes could make his City debut on the day he signed for the club.

Lowestoft come into the game having lost just one of their opening seven, a 3-0 defeat at Stockport County, with two wins and four draws seeing the newly-promoted outfit sit comfortably in 9th place.

The Trawler Boys secured promotion to the Vanarama Conference North after a 3-0 victory over AFC Hornchurch in the play-off final and top-scorer Shaun Bammant will be looking to add to his three goals so far this season.
