City hoping for more cup success against Barrow

WORCESTER City will be hoping for more cup success tomorrow (Saturday) when they host Conference North leaders Barrow in the FA Trophy.

After a stirring FA Cup campaign, the Blue and Whites have been handed arguably the toughest draw of the third qualifying round as they welcome the table-toppers to Aggborough.

But on the back of a tremendous 3-0 win at Harrogate, which extended City’s unbeaten run to eleven games, Carl Heeley’s men will go into the game full of confidence.

That confidence will be aided by the fact they are yet to suffer a home defeat this campaign, and have only tasted one loss in all competitions at Aggborough this calendar year.

Jose Veiga still remains a doubt with a knee injury, while Jacob Rowe hobbled out of the weekend success and is unlikely to feature.

Despite a 100 per cent home record, the Bluebirds have had mixed results on their travels, with three wins, two draws and two defeats to their name.

Darren Edmondson’s men have put their own impressive run together of late, having not been beaten in their last six, winning five in the process.

Manager Heeley said: “We have got a home draw and we have done well at home so we are happy.

“It is a very, very tough game, but we have gone 11 games unbeaten and there is no reason why we can’t continue that.

“Although we know it will be a big challenge we are capable of winning the game.”
