WORCESTER City turn their attention back to the FA Trophy tomorrow (Saturday) when they welcome Conference Premier side FC Halifax Town to Aggborough.
After a spirited second half saw them claim a 1-1 draw at League One Scunthorpe United, City will go into the game high in confidence and looking to extend their 14-game unbeaten run.
With one eye on Wednesday’s replay with the Iron, Carl Heeley may be tempted to tinker with his line-up, but will also be keen to protect a record which has seen his side beaten just once at Aggborough in 2014.
The Blue and Whites made it to this stage thanks to an impressive 3-0 success over Barrow, in which Sean Geddes’ “rabona” grabbed headlines all over the world.
Halifax come into the game on the back of a 2-1 midweek defeat at Torquay which leaves them sat three points adrift of the play-off places.
Neil Aspin could hand starts to fringe players James Bolton, Danny Schofield and Jamie Jackson as he looks to repeat their Trophy exploits of the 2012/13 season as they reached the quarter finals.
Manager Heeley said: “We are respectful of everybody we play against and it will be another cracking atmosphere against Halifax.
“They are a team from a division above but we will give them a run for their money and they are not going to get an easy game against us.”
The two sides last met in March last year with Town coming out resounding 5-0 winners. They had early won 1-0 at St George’s Lane.
