CAVALIERS captain Jean-Baptiste Bruzulier believes the club have made a big statement by reaching the final of the Aviva A League.

Worcester Warriors’ second string side will have the chance to pick up their first piece of silverware of the season when take on Saracens Storm at Sixways next Monday.

This comes after they defeated defending champions Bath United 37-26 on Monday, which also extended their winning run in the competition to six games.

Scrum half Bruzulier said he was delighted to claim the scalp of Bath, who are currently leading the Aviva Premiership, and he has now set his sights on beating Saracens.

“We have played Gloucester, Northampton and Newcastle who are all Premiership sides and we have beaten them by a good margin,” he said.

“We knew Bath were going to be a good team, but once again we did ourselves proud and got the win.

“Since the start of the season, everyone was saying we are capable of doing this and that, but we have actually done something in the British & Irish Cup and now we are into the A League final, so we are making a big statement.

“It would mean everything to win it, especially for the young boys who are not getting chances in the first team as it shows they are stepping up and helping to make a name for themselves.

“Worcester has not had much success in the competition in previous years, so if we did win it it would be a stepping stone for the club.”
