WORCESTERSHIRE all-rounder Brett D’Oliveira reached the summit of the Professional Cricketers’ Association’s (PCA) ‘Most Valuable Player Rankings’ in the NatWest T20 Blast.
The 24-year-old secured his place at the top of the pile with 93 points after last Thursday’s rain-ruined match against Durham Jets, where he scooped two PCA MVP points.
And in Friday’s T20 Blast match against Derbyshire Falcons, he claimed another six points after scoring 21 and having figures off 0-17 off three overs for his bowling.
However, ex-Worcestershire player Michael Klinger has since claimed top spot with his performances with Gloucestershire, while Northamptonshire’s Joshua Cobb has moved into second place.
D’Oliveira lies eighth in the overall PCA MVP table with 237 points, 23 behind county teammate Joe Leach who remains at the summit with 260 points.
The PCA MVP was introduced in 2007 to showcase the cricketers who win matches by combining all aspects of a player’s performance to give a ranking in relation to their peers.
