SCRUM-HALF Luke Baldwin insists there is no reason why Warriors can’t record back-to-back wins against Harlequins when they travel to the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday in the Aviva Premiership.
The 26-year-old, who was voted man of the match against Brive last Saturday following an outstanding performance in the number nine shirt, believes the Sixways outfit can replicate their 21-15 victory in London last season, which was part of Warriors’ best-ever Premiership four-game winning streak.
But the former Saracens and Bristol player admitted the team would have to be more ruthless than they had been so far this campaign if they are to claim a vital away win.
“We need to get our winning habit back. It has been the key areas of the game that has let us down at times this season,” said Baldwin.
“Winning in any competition changes the culture, vibe and atmosphere of the club.
“When you’ve got teams winning, whether it’s in the A League, European Challenge Cup or Premiership, it has an impact across the whole squad.
“Quins aren’t doing as well as they have in previous seasons, but we know they’re a very good team and obviously, being away from home, there’s a number of different factors we have to take into account.
“We just need to be more ruthless which will help us become consistent. We have the quality and desire amongst the squad to compete with every team we play; we just need to believe we can see games out.
“Harlequins have some quality players, but we beat them at the Twickenham Stoop last season, so we have the belief we can go there and beat them again.
“We’ve underperformed against Sale and Gloucester at Sixways this season, so taking points away from home is vital. There’s no reason why we can’t come away with a win the weekend.
“For me it’s 15 against 15 no matter who you’re playing against. We just need to make sure we go out and give it our best.”
