Arr out for 'at least' three to four months

SCRUM-HALF Jonny Arr is facing ‘at least’ three to four months on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery.

The 27-year-old picked up the injury in the 75th minute of Warriors’ 24-20 defeat to Harlequins on Sunday, January 3.

The Worcester-born centurion has become a key figure at Sixways and has played more matches for his hometown club than any other current player.

Warriors head coach Carl Hogg said: “Jonny’s had knee surgery after picking up a significant injury (lateral ligament damage) and he’ll be out for three to four months at least.

“We’re at a critical part of the season where we’re going into a block of ten Premiership games so I’m devastated for Jonny.

“Hopefully, if his rehab goes according to plan we can get him back as soon as possible, which could even be at the tail end of the season,” he added.

Warriors’ casualty list has swollen as the season has progressed, but a couple of the Sixways stars are returning to the field and getting back to full fitness.

“We’re starting to get a few players back. Luke Baldwin, Andy Short and Dan George have returned to the squad and Ryan Lamb shouldn’t be too long with his hamstring,” said Hogg.

“Gerrit-Jan van Velze shouldn’t be too far away from getting back on the field either,” he added.
