WORCESTERSHIRE CCC have signed promising top-order batter Isaac Mohammed from Warwickshire’s academy.
The 17-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Pears.
He featured for Smethwick in the Birmingham and District Premier League this season, averaging more than 50 runs a game with a top score of 125.
Worcestershire CEO, Ashley Giles said: “Isaac is a player of enormous potential and someone we’ve been tracking closely for some time.
“He has all the attributes to thrive at the professional level with talent, great temperament and a genuine hunger to learn.
“It’s clear how highly regarded he was at Warwickshire, and we’re thrilled he’s chosen to join us at New Road.
“He already feels like part of the family, both literally and in terms of our culture and ambition as a club.
“We’re committed to supporting his journey every step of the way.”
Mohammed is a relative of England great Moeen Ali and current Pears assistant head coach Kadeer Ali.
He will link up with Worcestershire’s professional squad immediately.
