WORCESTER’S Barbourne Road has fully reopened more than a week after a burst water main flooded the carriageway and caused transport misery for many.
The main artery into Worcester from the north has been closed since last Wednesday (June 21) evening following the incident, which also saw water supplies cut briefly.
Severn Trent engineers have been on site for most of the past seven days which has seen the main route into the city out of action to all forms of transport.
After the water supply was reconnected and the damaged road surface was removed, resurfacing work began and both Barbourne Road and St George’s Lane North reopened ahead of schedule yesterday (Thursday)
