Worcester owner and dog have paw-some time at Crufts as they scoop prize

WORCESTER woman and her four-legged friend Eadie enjoyed a paw-some time last week after returning from Crufts with a top prize.

Eadie, a three-year-old Cocker Spaniel, and owner Georgie Lott scooped The Kennel Club Medium ABC (Anything But Collie) agility competition at the prestigious event, which took place at the NEC in Birmingham.

The dynamic duo battled it out with seven other finalists at the world’s greatest dog show last Friday (March 8).

The final saw eight medium dogs, other than Border Collies and Working Sheepdogs, competing to win.

All eight furry finalists qualified from the semi-finals at the International Horse Show in December.

Georgie, 37, is far from new to the dog show world having been practicing her skills in agility since the age of nine.

However, last week’s outing was her first foray into the competition at Crufts.

She said: “I’m in shock right now.

“This is Eadie’s first ever Crufts so I had zero expectations for how she would cope in the environment, so for her to pull out two clears and a win is insane.”

Crufts Show Manager Helen Kerfoot added: “Well done to Georgie and Eadie for their impressive run in the final today.

“They both showed incredible confidence in an arena of onlookers at Crufts and it is clear how dedicated they are to agility.

“The ABC Agility is a fantastic competition for owners with different breeds of dog competing in agility.

“Well done to all who entered and took part in the final.”
