A WORCESTERSHIRE based homeless charity is looking for sponsors to help provide food or donations for lunches once a week in its Worcester Day Centre.
Students from the Heart of Worcesershire College are hoping to lend a helping hand at the day centre as part of their work experience module.
Melissa Blewitt, marketing and relations manager at Maggs said: “We are delighted to have this wonderful opportunity with the students from the SEN department.
“However, we need certain food items to allow this project to come to fruition, so we’re looking for kind people to help lighten the monetary load and help us bring this opportunity to life.
“Even a donation of £10 could help, not only to help students secure invaluable work experience but also so our service users get to enjoy a weekly homecooked lunch at least once a week alongside their bespoke support from our team.
“Those small gestures truly can transform someone’s life and give them something to look forward to.”
Maggs provides cooked breakfasts for rough sleepers and those in temporary accommodation every morning in both their Worcester and Malvern open-door day centres.
Amy Miller, work experience learning supervisor in the SEN Department at HOW College, added: “As a part of the supported employment and forward focus criteria in our SEN curriculum, we were delighted to be approached by the Maggs team to offer a unique opportunity to cook a weekly lunch in their day centre.”
