A PROMINENT Worcester based female architect has been shortlisted as a finalist for two awards which recognise inspiring women in the property industry.

Becki Smith – education lead and senior associate at ONE, an architecture, engineering and design company headquartered in Worcester – has been nominated for mentor of the year and woman of the year at the Inspiring Women in Property awards 2023.

The event, which takes place on October 12 in London, celebrates individuals, teams, organisations and initiatives that are driving significant, positive change for a healthier stronger industry.

Becki has previously been a regional director for Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in the West Midlands and is currently the chair of the Worcestershire Society of Chartered Architects and sits on the RIBA Regional Council.

The multiple award nominee is also currently part of the team from ONE working on the Former Market Hall site in Bromsgrove.

She said: “I am so excited to be a finalist in these two categories.

“It means such a lot to receive this recognition and makes me think about how I could think bigger and make even more of an impact through mentoring as well as across the sector.

“Good luck to everyone in all of the categories.”

Matt Tebbatt, Managing Director at ONE, added: “Congratulations to Becki – so very well deserved.

“Becki is an incredible mentor inspiring those around her, as well as making a huge difference within the industry itself.

“Everyone at ONE will certainly be cheering you on.

“Well done also to those that made the shortlist and we look forward to the awards.”

A Bromsgrove District Council spokesperson wrote on X, formerly Twitter : “Congratulations to Becki on being nominated for two amazing awards. We are very fortunate that Becki is part of the team working on the Former Market Hall site.

“We wish her the best of luck for October.”
