A WOMAN remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of assaulting a child while walking along Chedworth Drive.
Officers were contacted earlier this afternoon (Friday) after the woman was reportedly witnessed assaulting the youngster.
Following an investigation, a woman in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is in police custody.
Det Sgt Dave Hall said: “I would like to thank the community for their support and to the member of the public for reporting this incident to us.
“The child did not require medical attention and is safe, staying with a friend of the family.”
