A CHILDREN’S swim school is hosting its annual autumn pyjama party in Worcester and Malvern to raise money for charity.
Puddle Ducks is inviting youngsters to have a splashing time at Malvern College this Friday (November 11), Kings Hawford School on Saturday (November 12) and Worcester’s New College on Sunday (November 13), to raise funds for the Grace Kelly Ladybird Trust.
The swim school, which teaches children from a few weeks old to ten years of age, will help youngsters learn invaluable life preservation and water safety skills as part of its current programme.
Customers recently voted on Facebook to support the Ladybird Trust, which was set up in 2014 by the Kelly family after they lost their daughter Grace from an aggressive form of cancer.
The Trust works to raise awareness of childhood cancer, as well as to provide grants for research into rare paediatric childhood tumours.
Kate Attwood, Puddle Ducks’ owner said: “Our pyjama parties have a real focus on fun, but there’s also a serious message behind them. Wearing clothes in water helps children realise how it could feel if they got into trouble while out playing.
“In a controlled environment they can learn how to cope with this situation, so if it unfortunately happened out there in the real world, they’d be more equipped to deal with it.”
