POLICE have warned parents and children to be on their guard after a young girl was approached by a suspicious man in Tolladine.

The man, aged about 45, drove his silver vehicle up to the ten-year-old on Avon Road, about 5.50pm on Monday (August 4).

The victim, who was not touched or pulled into the vehicle, ran away and told an adult who then reported it to the police.

He is described as Asian, about 5ft 10ins, thinly built, dark brown hair and wearing a grey top with text on it.

Anyone with further information on the incident can contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or by calling Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
