A DOMESTIC abuse charity which works across Worcestershire held its summer conference at the height of its 40th anniversary year.

The West Mercia Women’s Aid event was the first face-to-face event in more than two years during which time the organisation has grown considerably.

Presentations as well as break out groups and workshops were on offer for around 50 colleagues and trustees.

Charity challenges such as the recent 130 mile cycle from the Halesowen Heroes and a sponsored 15 mile walk in the Peak District were also recognised.

Nikki Griffiths, chair of the Board of Trustees said revealed the group’s pride in reaching four decades of supporting domestic abuse survivors

“We used the day to reflect on our history, discuss both current and future priorities and acknowledge our anniversary as a team,” she said.

“It also offered us the opportunity to meet new colleagues and inspire others to get involved in our invaluable work.”

West Mercia Women’s Aid’s 24 hour helpline is available on 0800 980 3331.
