UNIVERSITY of Worcester staff and students came together with members of the community to celebrate the naming of a sports pitch in honour of a former Chair of Governors.
The new state-of-the-art 3G artificial turf pitch, at the University’s St John’s Campus, has been named in honour of
John Bateman OBE who stepped down as the Chair of the University’s Board of Governors in 2022 after seven years of service.
He served as a Governor for 15 years.
The naming ceremony was presided over by the University’s Vice Chancellor and chief executive, Professor David Green OBE DL, who paid tribute to Mr Bateman for all he had contributed to the University over his years with the Board of Governors.
