A CITY RESIDENT could be the holder of a Lotto ticket worth an incredible £33,035,323 after Lotto chiefs confirmed the unclaimed prize is from a ticket bought in the Faithful City
National Lottery players are being urged to check, double-check and triple-check their tickets for the chance to claim this record-breaking prize in time.
The search is now on to find the owner of the winning ticket, who matched all six main numbers to win one half of the £66m Lotto jackpot in the draw on Saturday, January 9.
The winning Lotto numbers on that date were 26, 27, 46, 47, 52, 58 and the lucky ticket-holder has until Thursday, July 7.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery told the Observer: “Today (Friday) we are in the city of Worcester on our search for the biggest Lotto draw in the UK.
“We can confirm the ticket was bought in Worcester city centre for the Saturday, January 9 draw, and we hope that lucky winner will come forward before the Thursday, July 7 deadline.
“97 per cent of people have claimed their prizes before time is up, but it seems the people of Worcester are very laid back. In October last year a £1million prize wasn’t claimed until January in the the city, and a similar incident happened in 2009.
“So if you’re that lucky winner please come forward and we’ll have our team look after you and support you. Even if you believe you’re the winner but have lost your ticket, get in contact with all the correct details and we can still pay out.
“This amount of money can really change someone’s life, so check and double check those tickets as it could be you.”
