Two arrested after man stabbed in Worcester

A MAN was stabbed in the stomach and chest during an attack in George Street last night (Sunday).

Two people have been arrested after the incident which occurred at around 11pm. The victim was taken to hospital where he is currently in a stable condition.

A 33-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, both from Worcester, have been arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting attempted murder.

Det Insp Mark Walters said officers believe the attack took place at a property on George Street before the victim left the scene where he was treated by paramedics.

“We’re carrying out a thorough investigation to establish what happened and how this man ended up with these very serious injuries.

“We believe that the victim and the suspects were known to each other and there was no risk to the wider public.

“We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed anything suspicious,” he added.
