Trio pick up awards

Worcester Editorial 6th Dec, 2018   0

A TRIO of Sanctuary Group employees are toasting success after triumphing at the 2018 Worcestershire Group Training Association (WGTA) Apprenticeship Awards.

Matthew Spellar, George Baldwin and Harry Eales, who work at Sanctuary’s offices on Castle Street, all picked up accolades at the prestigious ceremony which was held at Sixways.

Business and Administration apprentice Matthew was presented with the Endeavour Award for his efforts in the face of adversity. The award recognised Matthew’s exceptional commitment to personal and professional development, including overcoming barriers to learning.

Accountancy apprentice George won the Excellence in Accountancy honour for his outstanding approach to both Sanctuary and his studies as part of his Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification.

Harry, Business and Administration Apprentice, was jointly named Level 2 Apprentice of the Year, an award given for exceptional performance in the workplace.

The trio’s achievements are testament to Sanctuary’s national apprenticeship programme which has supported 1,500 young people into work over the past decade.

Nicole Seymour, Director – Corporate Services, said: “Matthew, George and Harry have shown immense hard work and dedication to their apprenticeships and these awards recognise that.

“Their success, coupled with that in previous years of fellow apprentices, shows the value of our apprenticeship programme and underlines Sanctuary’s commitment to realising the potential of local young business people.”
