FLOWERS and cards have been laid at a primary school in Worcester to pay tribute to a girl with ‘the sweetest of personalities’.

Poppy Allies was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital after collapsing at Cherry Orchard Primary School on Wednesday, May 21. The 11-year-old, who was a Year Six pupil, was put on a life support machine, but she passed away on Friday, May 23.

Heartfelt tributes have since been paid, with well-wishers leaving flowers and cards at the school on Timberdine Close.

Head teacher Jeremy Harwood said: “Poppy will stay long in the memories of all who knew her. She benefited from the nurturing support of a loving family who are very much in our thoughts and prayers.

“She was a quiet girl with the sweetest of personalities. Cards left with flowers placed in the school’s woodland area pay tribute to her lovely shy smile, her caring nature and her thoughtfulness.

“She was a wonderful girl of whom any parent would, justifiably, be hugely proud. She will be very much missed.”
