Tour of history and heroines

Worcester Editorial 14th Feb, 2014 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

THE HISTORY, heritage and heroines of Worcester will come to life during a series of city tours this month.

People are being invited to go on a variety of walks around the city with Discover History from Saturday (February 15) until Saturday, February, 22.

The women of Worcester, the city’s medical story and the secrets of the ale house are among the themes of the tours, which will all start from the Guildhall.

Paul Harding, of Discover History, said he hopes the tours, which cost around £5 each, will help people find out about the lesser known facts of Worcester.

“There is a massive variety of different tours which people go on,” he said. “All the tours are within walking distance and we will bring along a selection of things to bring it alive, including maps and historical documents.

“You can go around Worcester whenever you want, but it is always an added bonus to actually be taken around and it allows you ask questions.”
