Time to plant at care home

YOUNGSTERS from a city school have buried a time capsule to mark the official opening of a £6.5 million care home in Worcester.

A number of people turned out to celebrate the grand launch of Care UK’s Perry Manor Care Home on Charles Hastings Way last Friday (July 18).

Mayor of Worcester Coun Alan Amos cut the ribbon before helping pupils from Perry Wood Primary School bury a time capsule underneath a newly-planted tree.

Mike Dearn, home manager at Perry Manor, said: “Everyone at Perry Manor thoroughly enjoyed the official launch event and it was a great opportunity to welcome members of the community into the home – including the pupils from Perry Wood Primary School who assisted Mayor of Worcester Coun Alan Amos in cutting the ribbon.

“We took the opportunity to celebrate this very important milestone for Perry Manor in style. And we are now looking forward to continuing to make our new residents feel at home, and to build on what has been a fantastic start for the care home.”
