Time to get a grant for your group

Worcester Editorial 18th Feb, 2016 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

COMMUNITY groups have only eight days left to apply for grants of up to £2,000 to fund projects that benefit Worcester residents.

Worcester City Council has set aside £25,000 via the Our Happy Place Partnership to match-fund schemes that improve the lives or environments of residents living in Warndon, Gorse Hill and Rainbow Hill.

The deadline for applications is Friday, February 26 and only projects which can be completed by August 31 2016 can apply for a grant.

Coun Lucy Hodgson, City Council Cabinet member for History and Heritage and chair of Our Happy Place Partnership, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people to work together and really make a difference in their local communities.

“We have already seen some really great projects successfully bid for money which is being used to improve the quality of life of local people.

“The application process is clear and straightforward and there’s also plenty of help and guidance available so I would urge local people not to delay in putting their ideas forward.
