Time for a charity cuppa

RESIDENTS at a St John’s care home are hoping to brew up plenty of cash when they host a charity tea party.

Friday’s (March 7) fund-raiser at Regent Residential Care Home called Time for Cuppa starts at 11am with proceeds going to Dementia UK.

Over the last few days residents have been getting ready for the big day by crafting decorations from cupcake mobiles to tiered cake stands and bunting.

Fay Begum, the School Road home’s activities coordinator, said: “Our residents are very creative and are really looking forward to welcoming people from the community along to our event to see all their hard work.

“With many of them living with dementia this is a charity which is so close to all our hearts here at Regent, so do come along for a cuppa and a cake and support our fund-raising efforts.”

Anyone is welcome to come along to the event. There will be a small charge for refreshments, plus a raffle.
