HOSPICE chiefs have been left devastated after heartless thieves targeted a fund-raising event in Worcester, taking equipment and merchandise worth thousands of pounds
Staff arriving at Worcester’s Big Parade farewell event on Saturday (October 2) discovered their locked marquee broken into and audio-visual equipment and hospice merchandise missing.
Fund-raising director, Tricia Cavell branded the raid a ‘calculated act’ which took place between overnight security patrols and revealed the hospice has been forced to increase patrols.
“We are so sad that our event would be targeted in this way and that thieves have taken items which serve to raise funds for our care,” she said.
