WORCESTER’S MP and City Council leader enjoyed a sneak peak of the city’s new £10.5million swimming pool.
Robin Walker and Coun Adrian Gregson were given an exclusive tour of the eight-lane Perdiswell pool yesterday (Tuesday) which is due to open at the start of 2017.
The venue boasts a 25-metre main pool with seating for 250 spectators, an 18m x 10m learner pool, facilities for disabled people, a large fitness gym and sports hall.
Coun Gregson said: “It’s great to see Worcester’s new pool taking shape and I’m very impressed with the way the new facilities meld with the existing sports hall at Perdiswell Leisure Centre.”
Mr Walker said: “I already knew were on track to get a world class swimming pool but the way in which it combines improved sport facilities with excellent disabled access at every stage is particularly welcome for Worcester.”
