WORCESTER professional artist Susan Birth put her name in the frame at the 2022 Worcestershire Social Media awards when one of her paintings was commissioned as the prize for the overall winner.
In addition to the overall prize, organisers #WorcestershireHour also called for 20 limited edition prints of the Worcestershire Black Pear painting to the winners of certain categories.
The artwork was created using a mix of acrylic paint and collage. In addition to the pears, it features mistletoe, ivy and – thanks to artistic licence – pear blossom!
Stuart Allen, #WorcestershireHour founder, said: “It has always been important to me the Worcestershire Social Media Awards prizes have a local connection.
“In the past we have engaged with a local glass blower and a sculptor to create our prizes and this year we are delighted to be working with Susan Birth.”
