A LOW-FLYING swan has collided with a traffic sign in Worcester’s contraflow along the River Severn.

Highways teams from Ringway Worcester reacted quickly when the bird hit the sign today (Friday)

The team was in place to manage the contraflow introduced because of the flooded River Severn.

Steve Goodall rescued the stunned bird and kept it safe and warm following the incident.

The low-flying swan has now been handed over to a local swan sanctuary for treatment.
