YOUNGSTERS and staff at a Worcester primary school are celebrating after striking gold for sporting success.
Oasis Academy Warndon has achieved the Gold Quality Mark from the Youth Sport Trust.
Youth Sport bosses praised the school for putting PE and school sport at the heart of the school’s curriculum and the Gold Quality Mark provides schools with a nationally recognised badge of excellence.
Academy principal Emily Hobson said: “This recognises our commitment to delivering the best possible sporting experiences for the young people at our school.”
Last year, the academy had a range of incredible successes in sport, including improved outcomes for pupils in curricular PE and swimming and being selected by Worcester Warriors to be their representative team in the tag rugby festival at Twickenham ahead of the Premiership final.
Schools are awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold status, which reflect efforts in using PE and sport to raise achievement.
