Soden launches album at Mode Bar

WORCESTER’S Mode Bar will be the venue for the launch of the latest album from a Bromsgrove musician during a special launch party between 7.30pm and 10.30pm on Saturday (March 11).

Steve Soden’s ‘Welcome to the Asylum’ features 12 original tracks on the ‘vinyl-style retro’ CD.

It was recorded at HoW College in Bromsgrove and a studio in a garden shed in Droitwich and was produced by Spa resident Richard Dick Gould.

It is Steve’s third studio album which also includes – as a limited edition DVD – a tongue in cheek ‘Schlock Horror’ b-movie for the title track which was filmed in Worcester.

Steve told The Observer: “It is surely my most complex as it involved putting together more than 20 musicians who were willing to put in their time, energy and musicianship for this album to be completed – it took just over a year.”

As well as next Saturday, Steve will also be playing a half-hour set on March 26 at Acoustic Chaos at the Old Moseley Arms in Birmingham.

And he has further gigs planned for 2017.

It is also available on several download sites, including iTunes, Spotify and Soundcloud.
