CLASS A drugs were seized during a series of dawn raids in Ronkswood which saw six men and one women arrested.

The first raid took place at a property on Lichfield Avenue where six men were arrested on suspicion of the supply of class A drugs. A quantity of cash was also found in the property.

Two of the men are aged 20, while the other men are aged 18, 19, 43 and 57.

A property on Newtown Road was then raided where officers from Worcester Proactive CID found a small quantity of what is believed to be heroin.

A woman aged 33 was arrested following the raid in suspicion of possession of a class A drug.

All seven remain in custody pending further enquiries.

Det Sgt Jamie Francis said: “Operations such as these show that the police will not tolerate drugs activity. It sends a clear message to offenders that their behaviour is not acceptable, and to communities that we are taking action.

“Drugs can have a hugely detrimental impact on users, their families and the wider community, and we are doing all we can to crack down on those who cause this harm.

“We will always act on information coming in from the public, and would urge anyone who has concerns about the supply of drugs to contact police on 101.
