Sending a clear message

Worcester Editorial 23rd Jun, 2017   0

A WORCESTER resident denounced the terror attack on Muslim worshippers outside a London mosque with a heartfelt message and flowers.

Leaders at Worcester Central Mosque were left emotional when they discovered the card and flowers which were left after the terror attack in London in the early hours of Monday morning.

A van ploughed into a group of Muslims at about 12.20am leaving one man dead and 10 others injured, two of them seriously.

An increased police presence is being introduced around mosques including those in Worcester but the gesture from ‘Karen’ brought tears to the eyes of general secretary Mohammed Iqbal.

“All of the messages makes us proud that we are part of this diverse society made up of wonderful people from all walks of life,” the mosque tweeted.

“We also feel the same pains, emotions when tragic events happen be it terrorism or national disasters.

“Our message is of peace and unity, the true meaning of being a Muslim. Once again from bottom of our hearts, Thank You.”
