Search is on for the greatest landmarks

LANDMARKS across Worcester are among those being put forward for a county-wide bid to discover the Seven Wonders of Worcestershire.

Love Where You Live (LWYL), a local online community platform, has launched a Worcestershire-wide campaign to find the top landmarks in the county.

From top outdoor beauty spots to the county’s historical landmarks and architecture, the Seven Wonders of Worcestershire campaign aims to not only support local businesses but to shine a light on Worcestershire, one of the UK’s best-kept secrets.

Home to more than 70 retailers, selling in excess of 600 products, all of which have been made or sourced by independent businesses in Worcestershire, Love Where You Live brings together the best that Worcestershire has to offer, all in one place.

The campaign will focus on raising the profile of Worcestershire, showcasing the most iconic landmarks and businesses, such as the Confetti Fields in Pershore, the Regal Cinema in Evesham and West Midlands Safari Park in Bewdley.

Speaking on the county-wide campaign, Gillian Davies, founder of LWYL, said: “Having first moved to Worcestershire around 20 years ago, I’m still amazed at the beauty our county has to offer.

“One of my personal favourites is the Malvern Hills so the team here at Love Where You Live decided to create the ultimate poll of our most incredible destinations. As locals, we know that everyone has a favourite so competition for the top spots could be fierce.”

Running for the next month, the campaign is launching this week with its first category, best historical landmarks and it includes: Worcester Cathedral, Witley Court, Croome Court, Worcester Royal Porcelain, Harvington Hall and Friar Street.

People are invited to have their say on which local landmark is included within the top seven by heading to the Love Where You Live Facebook page.

Every week for the next month, the platform will issue a series of polls to identify the overall Wonders.

The campaign will end on August 27 and the Seven Wonders of Worcestershire will be announced throughout the following week.
