Royal theme for care home open day

Worcester Editorial 14th Apr, 2018   0

A WORCESTER care home is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for its open day.

Staff at Perry Manor on Charles Hastings Way will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event on Saturday, April 21 from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a country-wide scheme to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, Perry Manor has organised traditional royal street party celebrations with a red, white and blue theme to celebrate the open day.

With homemade crowns at the ready, entertainment will include live music from Martin Leonard, who will be singing golden oldies and family favourites from 3pm.

Katherine Matthews, home manager at Perry Manor, said: “We’ve already had a brilliant start to the year at Perry Manor, and our Care Home Open Day celebrations are set to be a real highlight.

“The day is all about enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the community, so what better excuse to invite the people of Worcester to the home than to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.”
