Roads are miles better says council

MORE than 115 miles of roads have been improved as part of Worcestershire County Council’s Driving Home programme.

The works, which include repairing and resurfacing roads, have – it says – directly benefitted over 12,000 homes and 27,000 residents in all six districts of Worcestershire.

The £12million Driving Home scheme was launched in April 2016.

By April 2018, 150 miles of roads in total will have seen improvements made.

An extra £6million is being invested into improving Worcestershire’s pavements.

The additional money will more than double the original investment into pavements, meaning more than 50 extra miles of footpaths can be improved.

The County Council is on track to improve over 70 stretches of pavements across the county by April 2018.
