GENEROUS residents in Rainbow Hill helped Worcester Green Party community campaigners Melissa Poulton, Alex Mace, Josh Trimmer and Councillor Marjory Bisset collected food donations to support Worcester Foodbank.
The festive season is one of the busiest times for the Lowesmoor lifeline and when asked why supporting the foodbank is so crucial in December, even more so than the rest of the year, the Green Party’s Alex Mace chose to criticise the Government.
“After 13 years of Conservative Government, people in Worcester are being forced to choose between heating their homes or putting food on the table,” he said.
“These coming months will be the hardest for those with the least; that means now is the time the foodbank needs to be the most supportive.”
On the generosity and support of Worcester residents, Melissa – recently named as the party’s prospective parliamentary candidate for Bromsgrove said:
“To see the support from residents in Rainbow Hill was truly amazing.
“Some of these residents haven’t got much themselves, but they were willing to give something up to help others. For that, I am proud.”
Worcester Green Party is dedicated to supporting those who are less advantaged or in vulnerable situations throughout the year and implores all readers to consider supporting their local foodbank this winter.
