Remember your loved ones

Worcester Editorial 30th Nov, 2019   0

A CHANCE to remember a loved one who has passed over the last year is on offer at a special memorial service being held at Astwood Crematorium and Cemetery.

The service on Thursday (December 5) is an opportunity for people from across Worcester to come together and remember the loved ones they have lost over the past year.

Tickets are free, however numbers are limited to 100, so local residents are being encouraged to apply for tickets as soon as they can.

“With festive celebrations round the corner, many people will be facing a very different Christmas from those they have known before, because of the loss of a loved one,” said Alice Davey, head of Community Services at Worcester City Council.

“Our memorial service is an opportunity for people to come together, share the experiencing of grieving for a loved one, and also celebrate that person’s life.”

The service starts at 2pm and will be led by the Rev Andy Todd of St Stephen’s Church. People of all faiths are welcome.

After the service, light refreshments and mince pies will be available.
