MEDAL-winning Paralympic swimmer and patron of Sight Concern Worcestershire Rebecca Redfearn, visited Brockhampton Primary School to thank them for raising money for the local charity.
Year six pupils took part in Sight Concern Worcestershire’s Flourishing a Fiver campaign and used their entrepreneurial skills to raise a grand total of £576.
Each pupil received £5 with the challenge of using it to raise as much money as possible. The pupils were highly creative and their ideas included bake and craft sales, a football challenge, a sponsored bicycle ride and a healthy tuck shop.
The whole school was excited to see Rebecca’s medals and hear about her swimming career during a special thank you assembly.
Anne Eyre, the charity’s Services Manager, said “The money raised will be used to offer practical and emotional support to people with sight loss and a visual impairment across the county.”
