AN AFTERNOON of coffee drinking, cake eating and live music is set to brew up a significant sum for charity this weekend.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, is being held in Cripplegate Park on Sunday (September 29).

Visitors can enjoy an array of home made cakes, including some treats created by Year 2 children from Dines Green Primary School, music from The Metz Big Band, an plenty of games for all ages.

Linda Sammonds, secretary of The Friends of Cripplegate Park which is organising the event, said: “This has become a very popular annual event in Cripplegate Park over the last few years.

“People have been very generous in the past and we hope to raise a lot of money for the charity as well as having a good time.

“We normally have a good attendance for this particular band so people should come early to ensure they have seats.”
