PUPILS at a Worcester performing arts school are inviting the community to their production of one of the West End’s most successful musicals.

Students from Bishop Perowne CE College will perform ‘We Will Rock You’ from Tuesday (February 14) to Thursday, February 16 at the Merrimans Hill Road school, where 80 youngsters from Year 7 to Year 10 will make up the cast, stage direction, make-up and lighting.

Created by rock band Queen and writer Ben Elton, the musical features a range of well-loved songs including ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Headlong’ and ‘I Want to Break Free’.

Mark Pollard, headteacher at Bishop Perowne CE College, said: “We Will Rock You is a popular and fun show with lots going on, so it’s really pushed our students.

“They’ve been in rehearsals since September and are very excited about performing it.

“As a specialist performing arts school, we have some extremely talented students and we want to invite the local community to come and see what they can achieve.”

The performance starts at 7pm and tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for students and concessions, which are available to purchase from the school finance office in the main reception.
