Princess is worthy of her title

A COUNTY dog warden has praised the strength and character of a stray puppy which was picked up in a terrible state in Worcester.

But Worcestershire Regulatory Service’s Dog Warden and animal welfare officer Pip Singleton has slammed the actions of the owners who let Princess Boo Boo get into such a condition.

When the pup was picked up last month in the city she had severe mange, alopecia all over her body and because she was scratching constantly her skin was inflamed and painful.

Once picked up the pup was taken to the vets where she was treated for her condition.

Pip is urging pet owners, or anyone thinking of getting a dog to consider the costs and think twice before committing.

She said: “Despite the severe discomfort she was in Boo Boo greeted everyone with a waggy tail and lots of fuss and kisses. She is still committed to enjoying life to the full and this is testament to her strength and character.

“How someone could let her suffer is beyond me – she is only a puppy and relied on her owners to look after – and they clearly didn’t.”
