ONE OF the city’s most popular summer shows has re-branded itself in a bid to make this year even bigger and better.
Worcester Flower Show will be known as the 2014 Worcester Show to reflect the huge variety of horticultural, creative and musical talent which takes place at the annual one day event.
About 5,000 people visited last year’s show and the number of entrants almost doubled, but organisers are hoping this August’s showcase will expand even further.
It takes place on Sunday, August 17 at Gheluvelt Park and is the ninth consecutive show to be hosted by Worcester City Council.
As part of the changes to this year’s event, the city council is urging people of any age to create a brand new Worcester Show logo which will be used on a wide range of materials to help promote it.
Coun Matthew Lamb, cabinet member for a cleaner and greener city, said: “It was fantastic to see a record number of people enjoying last year’s show, and to see the show go from strength to strength.
“There are so many green fingered and creative residents in the city. We are really looking forward to seeing all the designs for the new Worcester Show logo, and will display as many of them as possible at this year’s event.”
Full details for the competition are available online at www.worcester.gov.uk/worcestershow. Designs can be submitted either electronically or in hard copy by Friday, February 14.
