RUGBY fans can find out about the vision for Worcester Warriors’ future by listening to a podcast.
Matt Everard, the club’s newly appointed head coach, shared his plans, motivations and emotional connection to rebuilding the club on the Just Local podcast.
The new podcast, presented by Matt Nicol, managing director of local estate agents Nicol & Co, and a keen supporter of the club, comes as the Warriors embark on an ambitious journey to return to professional rugby, following the club’s collapse in 2022.
Mr Everard, who has previously played for and coached top tier clubs including Leicester Tigers and Wasps, opens up about the challenges of starting from scratch – including player recruitment, club culture and reconnecting with Worcester’s passionate fanbase.
During the podcast he said: “This isn’t about shortcuts. It’s about building something sustainable, something Worcester can be proud of.”
The episode highlights how the Warriors are laying the foundations for a new era, with a focus on young talent, long-term development and reigniting community support.
Podcast Mr Nicol continued: “Matt’s honesty and leadership shine through. He’s not just coaching a team – he’s helping rebuild a sporting legacy that means so much to this city.”
The conversation offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of rugby’s most compelling comeback stories and is a must-listen for sports fans, Worcester locals and anyone inspired by resilience and fresh starts.
