Offering them a hand

Worcester Editorial 2nd Mar, 2019   0

STUDENTS at Tudor Grange Academy have learned more about the sport of handball thanks to funding from a Midlands housebuilder.

The project has some of the country’s most successful coaches from the England Handball Association in school to introduce girls to the sport, provide equipment, organise games and offer development for staff.

The widely-acclaimed scheme is wholly supported by Midlands home builder Cameron and has been successfully delivered at 15 schools in the north Midlands and Shropshire in the past two years.

Nenad Popovic from the England Handball Association said: “Through the funding provided by Cameron we hope to improve the opportunities available for girls and with that continue to build on the growing numbers engaging in the sport since the start of the partnership.”

“Having seen the girls from the school participating in a national competition last year I am very excited by the potential which exists.”
