A SEA of colours were on show at a Worcester care home as residents celebrated the Chinese New Year in style.
Regent Residential Care Home, in St John’s, welcomed in the year of the horse by decorating dragon heads and making Chinese lanterns last Friday (January 31).
The activity celebrated the oldest Chinese festival, which is dated by the Lunar calendar and involves 15 days of celebrations, ending on the date of the full moon.
Following a craft session, residents also got to sample different Chinese food, including spring rolls, noodles and sweet and sour dishes.
Bridie Gray, care home activity leader, said: “Our residents are very creative and are fascinated by different cultures and traditions, so really enjoyed creating some vibrant decorations and saying Kung Hei Fat Choy (Happy New Year) to their fellow residents and loved ones.”
